ABOUT US
Private Equity Connections ("PEC") provides strategic advice and guidance to small and medium-sized private equity firms as they prepare to raise capital, actively market to institutional investors and maintain quality relationships with their investors and the institutional market post-closing. PEC counsels clients across the full range of fund strategies – buyout, growth equity and venture capital. We view every assignment as a partnership, with the potential for a long-term consulting relationship across multiple fund cycles.
PEC principals have more than 50 years of combined experience as private equity fund managers, investors, fundraisers, marketers, investment bankers and in the practice of law. We apply decades of institutional market and industry experience to prepare clients for fundraising and guide them through all phases of the process. PEC specializes in smaller fund managers and first-time seekers of institutional capital. Having interacted with thousands of institutional investors globally, we know what LPs seek in an investment relationship.
Rick Coffey and Ellen Coffey, the principals of PEC, combine their experience investing and managing private equity assets, advising private equity issuers and investors, and evaluating challenges facing pension investors in complex transactions and alternative investment vehicles. Their experience has included:
-
managing a $1.5 billion private equity allocation that included fund, direct and co-investment transactions at a public pension plan
-
practicing in a private law firm and advising on complex ERISA issues
-
along with partners, raising $140 million for co-investments alongside private equity firms
-
serving on the legal staff and documenting investment transactions for a large public pension plan
-
acting as a placement agent for venture capital, growth equity and small buyout funds
-
operating as an executive in various privately-financed companies
PEC was created to provide customized, expert advice and assistance to small and medium-sized private equity firms as they prepare for, launch and undertake the marketing and sale of their funds.
